Cattle

Cattle are slaughtered every Tuesday, and can be brought to our small, friendly abattoir on a Monday afternoon between 12:00 and 16:00. Bringing animals the day before slaughter ensures any stress they have by moving them from farm to abattoir can be much reduced. Lairaging cattle in clean straw pens provided with fresh water, relaxes the animals and ensures high maintenance of animal welfare. It also benefits the quality of the meat after the slaughter process.

Cattle must be under the age of 30 months and have a passport and 2 ear tags that correspond.

Food chain information must be filled in before slaughter. Click here to download a food chain information form.

Friendly staff will always be on hand upon your arrival to help you unload your stock and discuss any butchering requirements. Washing out facilities are available.
